Brand Strategy
There are many roads to your goals, but none of them is right until you have clarity about your own business. Brand strategy uncovers the most valuable thing you can offer, and to whom — for a lasting impression from the very first contact with your brand.
What brand strategy includes
01Target audience analysis
Understanding the target audience — their psychology, needs and desires — is key to offering them value they are willing to pay for. That is why we use a brand strategy process developed in-house at Embrand, to help you step into your audience's shoes and reach a new level of clarity about your business.
02Competitive analysis
What works for the other players will not necessarily work for you. Understanding the competition lets us judge which niches and messages suit your brand best, against the strengths and weaknesses of everyone else in the field.
03Brand positioning
Brand positioning is knowing exactly who you are as a business, what you offer and why it is valuable to your end customer. Without it every business decision is guesswork, because nothing holds it to a stable core. Once we have it, every decision that follows — whether you change the name, refresh the logo, launch a new product line or start working in new markets — comes with clarity and confidence.
04Mission, Vision and Values
While positioning says where you stand today, what determines how far you can go is your mission, vision and values. They are what separates the short-lived businesses we forget within a year from the brands that gather strong tribes of loyal customers for a decade to come.
Who it's for
Brand strategy is for you if your business has the potential to grow, but everyone on the team explains what you do and why it matters in a different way.
If from the outside you look, sound and feel like your competitors, leaving customers to choose on price alone.
If a rebrand, a new name or a new market is coming, and you want the decision to rest on something firmer than subjective taste.
If you want the visuals, the name and the messaging to follow one direction, instead of every decision being made from scratch.
It's not for you if you think messaging and design are just decoration you can generate yourself with AI. In that case it would be more useful to get direct, real-world feedback from your customers, to see how right your position is.
How the process works
Gathering background information
We start with a conversation about your goals: what you sell, to whom, and where you want to get to. We also gather everything that already exists — old materials, research, sales data — so that we have a precise starting point.
Strategy sprint
Two working days with you and your team. On the first — personas, competitors, a touchpoint map, values and positioning; on the second — pinning down the problems you solve and the benefits that come with them. We finish by mapping the competitive horizon your brand exists in.
Real-world check
Every decision is questioned and tested against the real world — using what we know about the audience, the competitors and the market. If something doesn't hold up, we bring it back for discussion before it becomes a foundation for your brand.
Strategy documentation
Everything we agreed — from the personas to the positioning and values — organised in a document your team can use. If the messages need another 2–3 rounds of discussion, we hold them until we reach a result you are completely confident in.

Questions we often get
What comes first — brand strategy or design?
Brand strategy. Without it, every visual choice is a beautiful guess, because there is nothing to judge whether it is right against. It answers who you are, who you are talking to and why that is valuable to them in particular; only then does the design have something to express. At TYXIT, exactly this order is why the brand identity won investors' trust and not just fans' interest.
What if we don't agree with the messages?
It happens. Sometimes it takes 2–3 rounds of discussion to reach the right messages. We don't charge extra for them — better to argue now than to have the brand speak in someone else's voice for years.
Who takes part on our side?
The owner and the people who will speak on the brand's behalf: sales, marketing, customer service. The earlier they take part, the less convincing we'll have to do later.
How much of my involvement will the process need?
The process runs through four phases — business goals, strategy, design and calibration — and your involvement is greatest in the first two, which take 2–3 meetings to talk things through. That is where things about the business come to light that often haven't been said out loud. After that, the rhythm is short reviews at every step instead of one big presentation at the end. See the whole design process.
What do you need from me as a client to get started?
Just a conversation and active involvement. You don't need to come with a finished brief — it is more useful to build the brief together by going through the process described above. Design is a game of constraints, and the most common problem with a brief is that it tries to achieve too much at once. So our first job is to cut the excess and focus on what is key. If there are already materials (old files, research, sales data) we always look at them, but they aren't a requirement. Book a meeting or send an enquiry and we'll start from there.
My product isn't selling yet. Is it worth investing in a brand now?
Let's be honest: not necessarily. We have turned away clients who don't yet know exactly what their product is or how good it is — at that stage there is nothing to brand. Beautiful packaging around an uncertain product is a short-term win (mostly for the designers) at the expense of the business's long-term growth. And a strong brand can never replace a useful product. It can only catalyse it. If you are at such an early stage, the more useful start is a short piece of work on the brand strategy and positioning described above, rather than creating a logo or packaging for something that is still just a fantasy.
Do you work with clients outside Bulgaria?
We have experience with clients from all over the world, which makes it easy for us to adapt to any organisational, time-zone and communication needs. We work in Bulgarian and English, and our time zone is EET (UTC+2/+3).
Perhaps what you need is
We have already helped brands around the world like
Today, when we open the website or look at the packaging, we feel pride — this is our brand, recognisable and complete. In practice, in 2-3 months we went from zero to a launch-ready product, with a clear strategy behind every decision. We slept a lot easier knowing that this part was in good hands.
I have worked with Embrand Studio for many years now and on very different projects. It has always been a delight to work with them as they are always very professional, available and customer oriented. I am amazed at how quick they are getting the vision of the project and how meticulous they are in understanding our business and our concerns. The brand identity that they created for us looks very authentic to our purpose and the way we approach our business. We will for sure keep working with them as much as we can and I highly recommend them!

The entire experience of working with Embrand studio has been incredibly insightful and I feel we’ve had a very good and productive partnership! Their services have not only brought the needed clarity into the Berenica brand but have successfully captured our vision and brought it to life. With their help, we have created the infrastructure for the future developments of the brand. My only concern was whether Alexander and his team would be able to understand and capture our vision for the brand. And since this is a women-focused brand, I was also concerned whether they will be able to successfully communicate this vision to our target audience — but I think they nailed it! Working with Alexander is not just hiring a designer but choosing a highly skilled business partner that could guide and advise one throughout the entire process of discovering and creating the right brand identity for your business.
